NCFC Positions for Exciting Future

Following an extensive selection process, Nunawading City FC is delighted to announce it has secured all its ‘Senior Department’ coaching appointments for season 2022.

The assembled senior department coaching team is the strongest since our inception into the NPL in 2015.

The new appointments have been strategically selected to tackle our ambitious 3 to 5 year plan.

Please join us in welcoming all our new appointments as we embark on an exciting future to become the ‘Club of Choice’ for both player development & performance.

In closing, we thank Fahid (Ben) Khalfallah and Devon Bonne for their services to the club over the last 3 years & wish them all the best with their future coaching roles!

Meet our New Senior Department Coaching Team

New NCFC Senior Head Coach
Steve Voursoukis

Steve has a long history with our club having spent 5 years coaching our various JBNPL teams & our u21s in 2017 & 2018.

In 2019, Steve left us to coach seniors elsewhere. He went to South Springvale SC and got them promoted to State 1 in 2019 & they held a mid-table position this year.

Steve is fully familiar with our club’s ‘Vision & Philosophy’ and will be pivotal to aligning our club’s playing style at senior level.

New Role as NCFC Senior Assistant/Analyst/Transition Coach
Jorge Gero

Jorge comes to us having spent the last 2 years as Technical Director at Carolyn Springs but also having spent time in our environment in 2019 as u21s head coach.

Jorge’s appointment in this newly created club role was deemed vital in positioning our club to achieve its medium and longer term goals.

Apart from assisting the senior team with his football knowledge and video-analysis, Jorge is doing a thesis on ‘Transitioning’ & will be the club’s Transition coach that will benefit Miniroos all the way up to Youth players transitioning into Senior football.

New NCFC Assistant Senior Coach
Michael Theo

Given Michael’s outstanding professional career, he now seeks to take his first steps into coaching as a senior assistant whilst he continues to play-on.

Michael’s on-field leadership is seen as crucial in supporting our senior coaches as we envisage building a younger senior squad in 2022.

New NCFC u21s Head Coach
Sean Douglas

Sean naturally moves into this role having coached our u19s NPL squad this year.

Sean brings unequivocal qualifications and experience having formerly been an FFA Coach Educator & an NSL player himself.

Sean is entrusted with the responsibility of continuing to develop our youth players but also preparing them for the demands of senior football.
